The GlowBug
The GlowBug
Don't forget about your mini! This mini glower attaches anywhere on your bag. Slide your mini into it, give the mini a quick push down when you need to mark your disc and it gets a quick charge. The UV lighting is activated by a pressure switch that triggers only when the mini is pressed down. The lighting is deactivated as soon as you remove pressure (no direct UV light in your eyes or onto the course)
No external power supply required. The built-in battery provides over 10,000 glow cycles on a full charge (1 second/charge). USB-C port for recharging.
Dimensions: 4.5" wide x 4.5" tall * 0.8" deep
Colors may vary (feel free to request available colors to choose from)
Why would I want this?
Why would I want this?
Have you already prioritized buying a full bag of glow discs over other basic needs? I'm not saying you have a problem, but think about the the better life choice to make now -- 2 or 3 more glow discs...or the baddest disc glowing machine on the planet?
A few other reasons you might want to consider The Firefly:
- Have you ever been guilty of accidentally flashing yourself or your cardmates with UV light during a night round? You probably apologized, but if you were really sorry, would you risk doing it again? Or would you get The Firefly to make sure that it never happens again?
- Have you ever lost track of where you put your flashlight and held up the card retracing your steps looking for it? Do you really need one more thing to carry around and keep track of out there on the course? Treat yourself to a little convenience, friend; you deserve it.
- Do you want to encourage innovation in a space the big manufacturers have neglected? We can do better than a flashlight, folks. And we can definitely do better than a glow box that lights up half the course every time you open the lid. Shout out to the others that are also putting in work to improve the experience of your glow rounds (solving the real problems here). Support them too -- Resonator, Helix, Halo.
- Do you like talking to strangers and making new friends? The Firefly is a real conversation starter.

Why wouldn't I want this?
The Firefly isn't for you if:
- You like to draw pictures on your discs with your flashlight before throwing. The Firefly doesn't do this well.
- You think carrying around and keeping track of a flashlight is not too tall of an order for an adult? More power to you. I lose mine every 3rd hole.
- You think busting out your flashlight and taking a few moments to stroke your disc before every shot is not really all that much of an inconvenience. Ok, The Torch might not be for you.
- You think its ok to carry around a glow bag that blinds the entire card every time you open it? I thought that was a good solution for a minute too, but I was wrong..and kept at it (also see The Cooker)
- Legit one: Are a significant number of your glow discs rim-only for glow? The edge and backside of the rim are the toughest spots for The Firefly to get to (given that its projecting straight out across the diameter of the disc). You probably want to spin your disc in a Resonator if you want your outer rim edge max glow.
How does it work?
How does it work?
The Firefly has a built-in pressure switch that triggers over 200 UV LEDs when a disc is inserted...and automatically deactivates as soon as the disc is removed.
How long does it last?
How long does it last?
The Firefly has an internal battery with USB-C recharging port and will deliver over 4000 disc charges from a full charge. Keeping a disc constantly inserted is not it's intended usage, but you do you. It will last ~2 hours of continuous usage.
Disc Compatibility
Disc Compatibility
The Firefly doesn't play favorites. The curved drop-in zone guides discs of all sizes straight to the pressure switch.
For thin discs, the faceplate has a tab that pushes the disc snug to the light panel to prevent light escape.
For fat discs, the faceplate is made from an elastic material that will flex outward.
Note: Outer rim edges of some discs may not pick up full glow due to light being projected straight at the disc rather than from the side (see "Why wouldn't I want this" section above)
